If you feel you absolutely must acquire an image or other such item that you know does not belong to you, please contact me by clicking that rather largish, purple button over there, down and to the right (the one cleverly disguised as an envelope). By doing so, you will discover that I am really quite reasonable when proper web-etiquette rules are observed. (That should be a word...webetiquette...is it? The red squiggly line tells me NO!) Anyhooo...thanks for your consideration.

A Confounding Conundrum!

Good morning, Max, and welcome back here to our ponderous place for a quick, but gracious recap of our Magpie & Dilly giveaway that took place over this past weekend.  I'm very happy to report that there are now a great number of new ebook owners who have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the wonderful world which we ramble on about here at Ponderous Things.  I truly appreciate their interest and hope they enjoy Magpie & Dilly and will share with us their opinions as soon as they've finished reading.  (Readers, sorry if you missed the Magpie & Dilly giveaway, but please take note that the Kindle version, normally $2.99, is still on sale at Amazon for a paltry $0.99!)

Now then, let's move on to what I consider the very best part of blogging:  welcoming new friends and followers!  It appears more people have chosen to join us here and I couldn't be happier.  Thanks so much for your interest.  I hope you all have time to stay and wander about, and take in the marvels of the magical world that is the setting for my YA novels featuring Buggy Crenshaw.  It is indeed a spectacular place as you'll quickly discover if you were to browse earlier posts (prior to last week's about the Magpie & Dilly promotion, of course).

Although it may seem that we've recently taken a turn toward deviance in our offerings (i.e., the case files like this one which we posted two weeks ago, along with other more disturbing references), I assure you there is much good to be discovered in the magical world.  Aside from Buggy Crenshaw, the Sorceress Mary Morgan comes quickly to mind.  It is by way of this Warrior's journals that I have been able to share such an enormous amount of information about that other world.  I would like to continue this effort in light of the fact that we've been warned numerous times that our world is about to collide with that of the magical! (Yikes!)

It is mostly for this reason that I have steered our offerings toward the more deviant characters you may begin to see running about.  Can you imagine someone like Mortimer Kilsmore showing up at your school or office one day, or that dastardly Solomon Sleekwood sneaking about your neighborhood?  (Personally, I shudder at the mere thoughts of such Deviants lurking!)

It may seem far-fetched, or frankly impossible, but according to my sources, it is all well within the realm of possibility!  It is for this reason that I continue my efforts to educate the magically uninformed.  I will not, however, dwell only on the dangers and disparities of that other world.  Allow me to remind you of some of the allies we met previously:

To our left is a photo of the highly revered Mystic Madame Zoetricious Bovari who is yet to be featured for her role in the Buggy Crenshaw adventures despite a number of other Seers who've made their marks. I am particularly excited about her upcoming part in my WIP (work-in-progress, of course) Buggy Crenshaw and the Infinite Sisterhood: The Seventh Sister. Madame Zoey, you see, is truly a wonder to behold, but enough about her for now.  Should you wish to know more, please explore the Buggy Crenshaw adventures, beginning with Buggy Crenshaw and the Bungler's Paradox.

Also pictured here is none other than Jinga, the Master of Pain.  As of this writing, I know very little about Jinga, except that he was one of Mary Morgan's teachers as well as a formidable ally.  Do please remember I have literally dozens of Mary Morgan's journals, most of which I've not yet perused, so it's very likely we will be seeing more of Jinga in the near future here at Ponderous Things and possibly elsewhere, but again, I cannot say more.

One thing I will happily point out, however, is the Ponderous Things header:
Here, you see Mary Morgan's renderings of her valiant allies Finneus Plight, Scalliwag Jack, Epitimous Dorsey, and Parsimonious Creed, all of whom have granted me permission to post their images here.  Of these Warriors, only Scalliwag Jack has so far made an appearance in print: you will find his debut in Magpie & Dilly as key member of a secretive network of spies for the Greater Good of Mankind!

As much as I would like to continue this parade of Do-Gooders (as they are known in their world) and sing their praises, I suspect it would be best to limit this sort of information until I know it is safe to offer it.  Far be it from me to put anyone's life in danger by sharing their image here, or their role in that other world without their permission, or of course, the proper precautionary measures.  Likely, you're curious but once you finally decide to immerse yourself in the Buggy Crenshaw adventures, you'll better understand this confounding conundrum!

Until then, I wish you all happy days and, as always, I implore you to Dream Big!

P. S. If you've not yet visited my new website, now is an excellent opportunity to do so!  There, you will find more information, drawings, links, and reviews of my books (along with some secret pages IF you can find them)!  I highly recommend a visit there, and I strongly encourage you to contact me for any reason that suits you.  The image below is a link that, once you click it, will whisk you off to a new and wonderful place I like to call my other home! Have fun!
