Hello, Max, and welcome back to our ponderous place for another enlightening post pertaining to the magical world which is the setting for my Buggy Crenshaw books as well as my most recent offering Magpie & Dilly. Also may I offer a warm and hearty welcome to our friends and followers, old and new, along with the few random wanderers who've only accidentally come upon our wondrous site. Please do stay a while and feel free to nose around a bit. If you're particularly interested in what takes place here, you may be equally intrigued by my new-ish website, which you are also quite welcome to visit.
For those who don't know, it's here that we discuss the research I've conducted and discoveries I've made pertaining to that other world, none of which should be taken lightly according to our magical counterparts. In fact, according to my sources, our worlds are set on a collision course that is not only unavoidable, but ironically, somewhat welcome in many cases.

Personally, I am still torn, particularly after what's happened these past few days when I went to investigate some of the information reported as fact by the Sorceress Mary Morgan in one of her many journals. As you can see by the photograph in yesterday's Lloyd's Hollow Gazette, I had a rather difficult time on my excursion...As much as I loathe to admit it, that is me inside that prehistoric predator's piehole! (I believe you can click the image to make it larger, then just use your browser's 'back' button to return here.)
Now, you may be wondering how in the world did I manage to get in this predicament? Or, more importantly (from my perspective), how in the world did I get out?! Please read on, but be assured that if you have even a single ounce of empathy in your soul, you will be as utterly...unamused as I was.
As is the norm for me these days, I was pouring over the notes inside one of Mary Morgan's journals, and for what I feel are obvious reasons,
I was enthralled by this drawing of what the Sorceress claims is a watership used for undersea transport. Despite having come across other drawings and mentions of this bizarre watercraft, I have not yet known the pleasure of actually seeing biomechanics of this magnitude for myself, so I am understandably as intrigued as anyone might be. I would very much like to see this watership myself and perhaps even make use of it as a passenger in order to discover even more of the great unknown such as the Sea Dragon pictured below.

In this offering, Mary Morgan claims to have come across this fearsome fellow while off, no doubt, on one of her many adventures. When I first set eyes upon this drawing, I thought exactly the same as the Sorceress: that this creature had to be of legend only, and not a real, actual (and quite terrifying) sea serpent! However, it was exactly this sort of cynical thinking that set me off on an adventure of my own. I made plans immediately to visit a place called Scribbly's Hollow where, in other records, Mary Morgan claimed to have witnessed such things. I simply had to know if this monster, along with that odd contraption known as a watership do actually exist! Unfortunately, even despite having been warned by Mary Morgan that the Sea Dragon can be 'devilishly tricky,' my curiosity did indeed become quite costly...
As you can see by the newspaper article here, the magical world enjoys a rather sarcastic wit with their so-called 'news.' Despite the danger I was in, they still managed to make light of the fact that I truly was nearly devoured by that monster fish! And as far as that 'pair of playful sea dragons who happened to be passing by...' I beg to differ! Had I wondered before where the newspaper got that photo, after receiving the following envelope in the mail, I would've wondered no more!
For more information on the magical world we discuss here at Ponderous Things, one would be wise to invest in the Buggy Crenshaw adventures, or Magpie & Dilly. All are available from Amazon.com in paperback and Kindle editions.
As always, thanks for visiting. I hope you enjoyed your time here and run off promptly to tell all your friends and family that they, too, need to stop by. And just so you don't lose your way, be sure to pop over to your right and click the 'Join This Site' button.
Until next week, by all means possible, do dream big!
